For the dual system there is always the need for both, the white handle to trigger the cartridge and the cartridge to fill the airbags.
The white handle contains a triggering unit which pierces the cartridge when released.

The cartridge is filled with pure Nitrogen in order to prevent icing up at low temperature. After a release it is necessary to send both the cartridge and the trigger handle for refill.
