The victim who accepts burial

gives away the best chance of survival
relies solely on the help of others
risks at least a 60% chance of loosing his life.
Passive rescue

Rescue beacons, ballons, shovels and probes cannot prevent one’s own burial.
This type of equipment only makes sense when someone is already buried

These rescue devices cannot be used by the buried victim, they are useless apart from giving out an electrical signal. Only not buried persons are able to actively use them.

Rescue operations reduce:
- the death rate of avalanche victims only by approx. 3%
- and with immediate help from friends only by 10%

The reasons for this poor statistic are irrevocable:
- the average depth of an avalanche victim buried under the snow is approx. 1 meter
- Digging out the victim from under this compressed and hard snow is only possible manually and with shovels
- In most cases even with a fast rescue the time needed to dig out and resuscitate the victim is not enough

stay on top with the ABS Avalanche Airbag System
Active rescue from the perspective of the victim is solely the prevention of one’s own burial!
Only the person who is able to prevent his/her own burial in case of an avalanche can calculate the inherent risk.
Only the person who can prevent his/her own burial will be able to help others who are buried.
Active rescue by preventing one’s own burial is only possible with the ABS-Avalanche Airbag
